Anderlecht opened up a two-point lead at the top of the Jupiler League table with a 1-0 win at home to 10-man Germinal Beerschot.
Romelu Lukaku scored the decisive goal after 53 minutes with the hosts further aided by the sending off of substitute Victor Wanyama five minutes from the end.
The win moved Anderlecht two points ahead of Club Brugge who could only draw 1-1 at Excelsior Mouscron.
Jaycee John opened the scoring for the hosts after 51 minutes but th! e lead lasted just four minutes as Rostand Kouemaha found an equaliser.
