The Springboks are expected to put quite a few points past Italy when the two sides meet at Newlands on the 21st of June.
Italy coach Nick Mallett will name a hugely inexperienced squad to tour South Africa with the eye on building depth in his squad and giving the fringe players some exposure against the top teams.
Some of Italy's top players missing are Gloucester captain Marco Bortolami, Italian captain Sergio Parisse of Stade Francais, Clermont centre Gonzalo Canale and the Stade Francais pair of the Bergamasco brothers Mauro and Mirco.
Mallett says if two or three players have good tes! ts against the Springboks and Argentina a week later, he'll consider the tour a success.
